Here, Julie, you wanted to know what it looked like from my window . . . well, THIS IS WHAT IT GODDAMN LOOKS LIKE . . .
I walked to the SAQ last night (a ten-minute horror each way) just because I wanted a Bloody Caesar (there's your goddamn comfort food!) and seriously feared for my life. I had to gauge whether the gamble of walking into oncoming traffic was worth the security of not slipping and knowing that if I did slip it would be curtains or for sure breaking my elbows and wrists by walking on the sidewalk. It was a tough decision.
I am SO not going anywhere today. It's minus 275 degrees Kelvin and it's snowing methane flakes with a minor tornado to boot. Jack in the Coriolis Effect for good measure and THIS IS THE VIEW.
Happy now, Julie?
looked better at night :P
ReplyDeletewell as you stay in your cozy apartment tonight, i will be navigating the snow covered streets to get to work.
Aaah . . . I ended up going out anyway! Even more of a nightmare than yesterday!!!
ReplyDeleteBut take care, wear your best golf shoes with the extra-long cleats . . . dayam. I am SO not going out tomorrow . . .
I don't know how I stumbled across this entry of yours...
ReplyDeleteBut, oh-my-god, I've never laughed so hard.
I feel for you, I really do...but man, was that a spotting good source of entertainment for me!
...And one of the many reasons I still convince myself it's better living here in Orlando, Florida...
...With wacky thunderstorms, predictable rain, annoying humidity, and enough lightning to make it the lightning capital of the world.
Yes...I will take ALL of that over snow, ice and cold...any day...every time.
...::shudder::...

ReplyDeleteGreat blog. Glad to entertain! Most of the time I just have to live with "I crack me up."
You know, call me weird, but I would not give Montreal up for the sake of weather.
I LIKE snow and ice and slush and fucking three-feet-deep accumulated puddles hiding under slush and the fact that black ice is just that:an invisible minority.
Green stop signs don't hurt either, come to think of it.
LOL!....
ReplyDeletewhat part of the city is this? looks nice, like icy cold-slushy goodness.
ReplyDeleteGotta love this city, i wouldn't live anywhere else.
Besides that I'm happy we got so much snow, my snowboard was lonely and bored.
Arlette,
ReplyDeleteI'm in Cote des Neiges, right near Queen Mary and the U of M. Best damn place in the city, if you ask me!
What is "icy cold-slushy goodness"? Whatever it is, it makes me laugh uncontrollably.
I too, could not be wrenched away from this city with a dozen Humvees and a 747 tow truck.
Just think of what 98% of humanity is missing!
"icy cold-slushy goodness" stands for whatever white shit (as people normally call it) falls from the sky; when is not totally melted but not solid either. In other words, plain snow.
ReplyDeleteHAHAHA
ReplyDeleteAnd TODAY was just the most HORRIBLE day of icy-cold-slushy goodness . . . ouch. I wish I hadn't had to go out in it, and I have to go out again!
What a nightmare!
I love the white stuff, but I'm not looking forward to this winter if it's going to be like this in Jan-Feb. I swear I almost killed myself a week or so ago . . . it was really scary!
I'm staying in today, gotta thank stomach flu for that.
ReplyDeleteCareful outside! you wouldn't want a hip replacement surgery for xmas!
happy holidays by the way.
