Misconceptions (Maybe Missed Connections?)

Not sure where I'm going with this, so bear with me. I spent five years living in Japan. Came away with a wife, and eventually a child. In anyone's life (remember we're only assigned one) that is literally a total game changer. Forget old life, adopt new one. Oh, I'm not complaining. On billions of levels, it happens to everyone.
