Hey, Dutch pilot slams on the emergency brakes landing on a runway! Co-pilot says "Wow, this runway sure was short!" Pilot says "Yeah, but it sure is wide!"
We haven't pulled out yet, its just that the government doesn't have the majority vote to extend their stay in Afghanistan. That's why it collapsed.

I don't get the runway comment could you elaborate?

ReplyDeleteThe joke is based, I think, on a Polish joke that basically says the pilot landed on the runway sideways as opposed to lengthways. I know, pretty stupid, but jokes usually are.
And my jokes notwithstanding, I think the Dutch are possibly the coolest people in the world! Hey, they speak better English than the English!

I'm up to my ears in WWII history so I haven't come to any conclusions about the Finns, but it seems in my recollections that once, they were on our side, then they weren't! And that they were only too happy to follow Adolf against the Russkies.
